Phys Lab Exam

Lab Exams will be done as post-quiz immediately after each Lab section.

Online Phyl Lab Courses

This is an online Lab Course, which will provide 20 percent of the grade for Phys Courses. As such it will be necessary for each student to obey strict rules. For online Lab sessions and online quizzes, attendance by Zoom, using your proper full name, keeping your camera and listening device on is compulsory and a roll will be taken at an arbitrary time for each day’s session by screen shooting. The composition of the grade for each experiment will be: PreQuiz 2 pts, LabReport 14 pts, PostQuiz 4 pts.

There will be 8 experiments. Each session starts with a 5 minute PreQuiz, and ends with 10-15 minute PostQuiz

Phyl 101 Experiment sessions will be held every Monday between 17:00-19:00 starting on November 16th, 2020.

Phyl 102 Experiment sessions will be held every Tuesday between 17:00-19:00 starting on November 17th, 2020

Phyl 201 Experiment sessions will be held every Wednesday between 17:00-19:00 starting on November 18th, 2020

Phyl 202 Experiment sessions will be held every Monday between 17:00-19:00 starting on November 19th, 2020

Lab Experiment Book can be reached both at Lab web page and also on Moodle (soon)..

Your lab Instructor will show a short presentation of the experiments in your lab textbook. Please read your textbook beforehand and carefully follow the experiments in the presentation. Immediately after the presentation you will be taking data while watching the DataVideo. You should have your textbook in front of you and open to the relevant pages so that you can record your data.

Once finished with data taking, you will analyze your data and write down your results. When you are finished, take the PostQuizwhich has a few relatively difficult questions related with the experiment in the given time interval.

You should prepare a pdf file of PreQuizand PostQuizsolutions and LabReportpages and save them in your computer. Then upload this file to the assignment page. Make sure that you do all this by 19:00 PM on the day that you are scheduled for that experiment and your file is less than 2 MB.

• Use a computer to watch the DataVideos and join the zoom sessions.

• Before each lab session starts make sure that you print the pages involving the relevant experiment of the Lab text book whose copy can be found in the lab web page (https://physlab.boun.edu.tr) or on the moodle page for your course.

• Keep Lab Book, pen, pencil, eraser, calculator, ruler, protractor, compasses, a few A4 sheets and your cell phone with you during the session. You will have to use your cell phone as a stopwatch when it is needed.

• FROM THE START OF SESSION you are given 2 hours to complete your PreQuiz, LabReport, PostQuiz and upload the pdf file to Moodle.

 • You are expected to scan PreQuiz & Lab Report & PostQuiz and, if they exist, additional materials as a pdf file.

• Name your pdf file “NameOfExperiment-YourName.pdf”. Make sure that it is less than 2MB.

• Upload your pdf file to Moodle in the given time.
